History
Housing the Masses (HM) started operations in Accra in August 2009 as an inclusive low-income development oriented national Non-Governmental Organization. HM has worked with both national and local governments, communities, other NGOs and international organizations including the UNDP and the UN-Habitat on policy reforms, project development and implementation, project, program and community facilities and research work.
Mission/Objective
Housing the Masses was created to fill the gap of professional technical assistance provision to slum and low-income communities in Ghana, especially in urban areas for their sustainable development needs in the area of housing and community development upgrading for the improvement of their overall quality of life.
HM seeks to meaningfully contribute to addressing the challenges of the rapid rate of urbanization in Ghana, while making significant use of its opportunities in a comprehensive and sustainable manner.
