CHF at the 23rd UN-HABITAT GC

CHF International/Ghana, a leading player in urban development issues participated in the 23rd UN-HABITAT governing Council Meeting and Exhibition held in Nairobi. With a team comprising Sylvester Gabianu, Munirat Tawiah and Augustine Adams, CHF exhibited the products and services offered in selectd slums in Sekondi-Takoradi and Accra. The well laid out CHF booth was visited by over 100 participants and UN staff.
Notable among exhibits displayed was the 3D model of the Elevated Compost Latrine which was piloted under the Slum Communities Achieving Livable Environment with Urban Partners (SCALE-UP)in Avenor; a slum in Accra. The ECL drew the most interest, with vistors requesting for detailed information for replication in their various settlements which met the criteria for siting. Shopping Bags made from recycled thin film plastics under the Youth Engagement in Service Delivery (YES) Project also received huge patronage.
During the 5 day event, the team met other participants across the world displaying various products from affordable housing designs, alternate energy solutions to innovative transportation models for developing countries.
